"A $10 Story"
I have been praying that God would use me to help other people. Should I be involved in a special service project etc. I have two very young children...I don't get out a lot. I suppose I was feeling like I really don't have a ministry. I was doing some shopping at Target one day, and I had a cart full of groceries. I was waiting on the rotisserie chickens to cook. While waiting, a very pleasant faced lady had a cart with only a few items and she was trying to decide if she should buy a rotisserie chicken or buy some lunch meat. She said she was trying to decide which would last the longest for her 12 year old son until she got paid later in the week. I thought...OH MY GOODNESS, GOD IS LETTING ME SERVE SOMEONE AND HE BROUGHT HER TO ME. I reached in my purse and gave her the cash in my billfold to cover the price of a chicken for her. She was so surprised and so incredibly thankful. She said she had been praying and not knowing how God would provide for her, but she trusted Him. At check out I secretly prepared a bag with some household items that anyone could use. I passed her and handed her the bag. I will probably always remember her face as she was sooo happy and pleasant. She was beautiful in a way that most people would overlook and not notice her as her clothes etc. did not require a second glance. But, I believe God was looking at me through her that day. I believe I received the blessing that day although she may believe she was on the receiving end. I am so glad I had some cash in my purse...I usually do not. I also believe if you look around, God is providing people to bless you with as you bless them in His name. I am so grateful for this experience.
